FLEXDRAIN heating cables for drains®
Another product manufactured from heating cords are the heating cables for drains used in cold storage industry, air-conditioning and heat pumps.
After a certain time, ice will form on the ribs of cooling units in cooling and freezing chambers, and it is necessary to perform a defrostation. During the defrostation, the ice will melt and the resulting water is gathered in tubs (collectors) and diverted through drainpipes. Several metres of these pipes lead through cold spaces and the water in them might freeze again.
To prevent these problems it is possible to insert heating cables of the CSC, CSC2 or CSC2K series into the collectors and drainpipes.
CSC, CSC/T and CSC/I heaters are designated for placement inside the drainpipes operating in the melting of the cooling medium in cooling chambers. They operate only during the de-frosting cycles. more▸
The CSC2 heater consists of a heating cable with a cold feed fully integrated with the heating section on one side. The beginning of the cold feed is marked by a sign on the cable. The blind end is insulated by a vulcanize silicone mould. The cable is equipped with a double silicone insulation, which makes it resistant to temperatures from -70°C up to 200°C. more▸
The CSC2K heating cable derives from the CSC2 type, but in addition, it has a built-in thermostat at the blind end of the heating cable. The heater is designated for positioning in collecting tubs of heat pumps and in cooling chambers. The built-in thermostat initiates the heating based on the environment temperature, so the heater can function independently on the other devices. more▸
