Used components

For HW temperature maitenance, a special auto-regulating heating cable has been developed.

FSH/TP - auto-regulating heating cable

It is especially designed for hot water temperature maintenance, and is installed on a pipeline leading from the hot water reservoir (boiler) towards the hot water tap.

The FSH/TP 30 auto-regulating cable is designed and produced with a temperature and output reserve, to be able to keep the water temperature in a range from 45 to 70°C.

Qualities:

  • it is equipped with an outer thermoplastic jacket (mark /TP) and a tin-plated copper braiding, which serves as a mechanical protection and grounding
  • cable with an output of 15 W/m at 10°C, temperature reserve
  • cable with an output of 30 W/m at 10°C, output reserve (Legionella)
  • it can be shortened to any length
  • it is impossible to overheat

FX/DC1P – output regulator

The FX/DC1P regulator ensures the efficient energy consuption. An output regulator is used for setting the output of a heating cable in HW temperature maintenance.

The FX/DC1P output regulator allows us to switch between a lower output used in a normal HW temperature maintenance and the full output  of the heating cable used for Legionella disposal. Meaning, that in normal operation, the temperature is kept at a lower level - 45, 50, 55°C - according to the requirements.

In combination with a switching timer, it is possible to raise the temperature to 70°C (full power) in set time points, which will liquidate the Legionella bacteria.

Regulator setup with the FSH/TP 30 cable:

The table shown below shows the heat losses for individual dimensions and insulations of a pipeline with a corresponding output setting (in brackets) for ordained temperatures. This setup is only orientational and has to be fine-tuned individually in each application.
