Pipeline heating regulation

For the regulation of heating cables we recommend the use of EBERLE thermostats and regulators. For industrial application, particularly in environments with explosion risks, we propose JUMO and ZPA Ekoreg thermostats.

If we use auto-regulating cables for anti-freeze protection, it mostly is not necessary or desirable to switch and regulate the heating cables according to the sensor positioned on the heated technology. Auto-regulating cables maintain the temperature by themselves. To switch the heating system off during the periods without frost, it is best to use a spatial (exterior) thermostat.

The EBERLE group offers a variety of AZT electronic spatial thermostats. They are equipped with an in-built sensor and have an IP 54 housing. This construction predetermines them for the installation close to regulated heating cables. Two cables can be installed to the thermostat. One as a power supply and the other as a feed to the heating cable. It is also possible to mount the thermostat directly onto the FX/JBB holder.

For environments with an explosion risk, we recommend the JUMO ATH-EXx spatial thermostat or the ZPA Ekoreg 61 113 in the EEx de IIC T6 version. The regulator can also be installed onto the FX/JBB holder.

Heating cables with constant capacity mostly need to be regulated by a sensor placed on the heated technology. Regulators with a remote sensor also find application in the exact regulation of auto-regulating cables. Furthermore, it is also good to use this type of regulator for the switching based on the exterior temperature, when the regulator is placed in the switchgear and the sensor is run out into the surrounding space.

For the installation close-by the heated technology, it is possible to use the UTR regulator with a remote sensor and IP 65 housing. The regulator can be mounted onto the FX/JBB holder.

The ITR-3 regulator mounted onto the DIN ledge is designated for use in the switchgear. The sensor can be placed into the outside space or onto the heated technology. Both of the higher mentioned regulators are manufactured by EBERLE.

In an environment with an explosion risk, the JUMO  ATH-EXx capillary thermostat or the ZPA Ekoreg 61 126 can be used. The thermostats are produced in many different versions, including the EEx de IIC T6 version. The flask with the capillary is to be placed onto the technology and the regulator should be mounted on the FX/JBB holder.
