Regulation

Regulation is an essential helper for the proper operation and durability of a heating system and for saving expenses on the used energy.

EM 524 89

The most suitable regulation element for the heating of gutters, drains, valleys and inlets is the automatic EM 524 89 regulator from the EBERLE group. This regulator uses a humidity sensor (ESD 524 003) and a temperature sensor (TFD 524 004) and by doing so will ensure the turn-on of heating elements only when both of the conditions are fulfilled at once, thus saving up to 80% of the energy consumption.

The regulator itself is to be placed onto the DIN ledge in the switchgear and initiates a current of 10A. The sensors should be positioned onto the most shady spot of the object (usually the north face) so that the long-lasting unfavourable conditions will be scanned and the gutters n this side are sufficiently protected from freezing. While the humidity sensor is positioned directly into the gutter close to the drain, where the humidity lasts longest, and the temperature sensor is placed onto the shaded part of the facade.

DTR

It is a double thermostat, which can be adjusted in the range from -20°C to 35°C. Usually though, the temperature is set somewhere between -3°C and +5°C, because with a cold roof, snow melting occurs in temperatures around the freezing point. This thermostat is built into a box with an IP 65 housing and is usually placed on the facade near the powered end.  This thermostat initiates up to 16A and can be combined with manual or timer control.
