The newly built detached house is currently used for recreational purposes. The main source of heat is a ceramic stove with a fireplace and hot-air circulation system connected to the entire house interior. Because the house is not continuously occupied, a secondary heat source was installed. This accommodated the wish of the owner to have a comfortable backup heat source that would not require manipulation with firewood or other manual intervention.
To minimize the costs and provide maximum comfort, we chose a direct electric floor heating preferentially installed in the floor.
REVOS carried out the electric installation including the heating.
The house has a brick foundation. The first floor is a cedar log construction, with the remaining upper part of the house being of a lighter wooden and drywall (plasterboard) construction. On the first floor we installed a floor cable heating FLEXELEC FLEXFLOOR®. Other floors were made of wood, which favored the use of heat-accumulating heating units Mirava. A heating mesh was used in the bathroom with a ceramic floor.
Controling of the heating in the house was solved using the BMR RT control system. This system allows a comfortable operation of the electric heating system with maximum efficiency and reliability. It can also be operated over Internet or GSM in case remote operation is needed.
Considering the company's experience with multiple heating principles and systems, including heat pumps, we will always evaluate the possible efficiency and return on investment for different systems. Heat pumps are often not the best solution for well-insulated buildings. If the client prefers a comfortable automatic heat source, electrical systems often provide the best solution. Floor heating specifically provides high comfort and effective energy use.
