In 2006, our company installed external surface heating for an-docks (goods supply driveways) for trucks, so that these surface would be ice- and snow-free in winter. The problem here was with the high-quality resin housing of the cables, placed on site at high temperatures. We used a newly constructed cable KYX for thisq purpose, where the external cable housing is made of meshed PE (XLPE). This material as well as the entire structure of the heating cable withstands temperatures up to 250°C. Because of this, high temperature and mechanical stress from heavy trucks moving about the installed cables, can not damage the cables. The entire heated surface is 175 sq.m with 42 kW output. The heating is regulated by snow and ice detector and sensors of outside temperature and moisture to save energy. This enables us to save as much energy as possible.
