We used the constant-output heating cable FTSH/TF at the Michelin CHP Plant as a heating solution. The total length of the cable was 2700 m with 40 kW output. This cable was partly installed directly into pipes and technological units, partly between layers of heat insulation protecting the heating cable from high temperatures (up to 535°C). Thanks to its robust and rugged construction, the cable proved itself, both during the installation and subsequent operation. To fulfil the requirements of the investor as well as the British Standards, the supply system of cables was alsqo designed to be extremely robust. It included metal contact boxes, armed supply cables and robust cable housing.
The Blackburn Mill CHP was designed in a similar way, installing cca 2800m of heating FTSH/TF cables with an output of 43kW.
